Ino Algranti
An award-winning Canadian painter, Ino Algranti’s work is a joyous yet
reflective interplay of color and texture.
Inspired by the majestic and ever-changing
nature of the beautiful province of Quebec where he currently resides, Ino’s
paintings are also unmistakably infused with a Mediterranean flavor.
For this self-taught Italian artist born in
Alexandria, Egypt, artistic expression is, in his words, “a misty
half-impression of the world”. This dreamy, yet warm and playful quality
has earned him recognition by both the artistic community and a wide
audience.
Ino has earned several prestigious awards
for his work in pastel, and his paintings have been exhibited in over a
dozen galleries in Quebec. His artwork has also been jury selected to
appear in numerous well-received exhibitions. Ino has been a member of the
MAGAZIN’ART guide to Canadian Artists in Galleries since 2002. He is
also a senior member of the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada.
Ino’s favorite materials are acrylic
paint, mixed medium and dry pastel, and he often works in oil. His
paintings have been described by art critics as “sensuous”, “open
with a deep perspective”, even as “undéjà-vu”.
Of his work, Ino muses: “In my
interpretation, colors are the ultimate form of free, unconventional
expression to set moods, …allowing viewers to roam about their way
seeking a setting and an atmosphere of their own imagination without
limitations...” |
